An Update?
So it's summer. There is just no time for sitting in front of a computer in the summer. There is swimming in the backyard, swimming at the beach club, running in the evening, VBS, household projects, sitting on the front porch with a good book and a good man, handing out popsicles, sharing a glass of wine with a good friend, impromptu potluck dinners, impromptu cookouts, sleepovers, and all manner of other summer fun to occupy my time. I think I might blog again regularly in the fall.
Some stuff:
We bought a one acre mountain lot in New Mexico off of Ebay. We haven't seen it yet, but our friends were driving through the area on the way to Mesa Verde and checked it out for us. We're gonna need a 4WD vehicle for this. The Lexus and the minivan don't do dirt mountain roads.
A very sweet family member was diagnosed with cancer. It was scary and awful. Then she got a second opinion at MD Anderson. No cancer. Anywhere. We are rejoicing! Our prayers were answered!
Later in the summer we will be spending a month in the Smoky Mountains. We rented a cabin right outside the National Park. Bud's banjo picking has picked up since we made the reservation. It will be nice to go somewhere a bit cooler than Texas for part of the summer. I hear there is a theme park nearby. I will not allow anyone in my family to call it by name, because it is just way too cheesy for my taste.
I've read The Shack (hmmmmm), The Painted Veil, and I'm currently reading The Thirteenth Tale.
Next week brings a Very Big Birthday our way. Which brings us to....
The GRP
