I'm still standin'
Yes, I'm still here. Just quiet, that's all.
On my mind lately:
-Our governor, Rick Perry, who decided to circumvent the democratic process and sign and executive order making the new HPV vaccine mandatory in Texas for all girls before entering 6th grade. I honestly haven't decided what I think about the vaccine yet, but I'm really angry that this man feels he can use this executive order to bypass the will of the people. Very angry.
-I need to start eating more. I haven't gained any weight yet. I eat when I'm hungry, I've even been putting half-n-half on my cereal. But now it's time to get serious and start packing on the pounds. When will I ever have this opportunity again in my life? I can't let it pass me by.
-House reshuffling. We are almost to the finish out stage of the media room that Bud has built with his bare hands. We're picking carpet and cabinets and furniture right now. It's very exciting. There is also a handy new walk-in storage closet off of the new media room. This will be the home for everything in our exercise/craft room right now. Then the excercise/craft room shall become a new nursery. Beyond that, we will be replacing the nasty shag carpet upstairs when the weather will allow us to keep the windows open for a while. At that point Bud's office will move downstairs and Peyton's bedroom will go up. This way both kids' rooms (and therefore both kids' junk) will be upstairs away from an exploring baby. And of course, all these moves will be accompanied by copious amounts of new paint. Fun!
-I turn 40 next month. I want to do something really grand. Bud doesn't really appreciate the grandness of the occasion, so I kind of need to tell him what I want to do. I was actually considering renting a beach house in Galveston and going with my girlfriends for a weekend of sun, shopping and dining, but we won't be able to coordinate our schedules till early May. What would you do?
-I love homeschooling. My kids are a lot of fun, and we are enjoying life tremendously. Speaking of that, it's supposed to be close to 70 today, so we need to get finished so we can get outside this afternoon. My apologies to my friends in Wisconsin.
Have a lovely day!
